Meet Georgia
You know you are destined to be in the beauty industry when, at 16, you are shaping brows & applying makeup for your fellow Texas Junior Miss program contestants. Yes, that was me. I loved the girl time and helping everyone feel calm and confident. These are the passions driving my craft and business today as I strive to help my clients feel confident and effortlessly beautiful; hopefully I’m saving them a few hours of prep work each week, as well.
I received my esthetics and lash extension training at Avenue Five Institute in Austin, TX in 2012. After graduating I worked in medical esthetics at Face To Face Spa and then under Devon Perry, master injectionist, educator, and founder of Veritas Bioactive Cosmetics and it’s flagship spa, Veritas Backstage. Medical esthetics provided me with an in-depth understanding of skin health, controlled wounding, and cellular repair, and facial symmetry – something that would come in handy when I began microblading. Working with Devon on injectibles and liquid facelifts reignited my base desire to simplify beauty routines for my clients. In 2015 I wanted to up my lash game and apprenticed under Gloria Fuentes and Brooke Alexander at Blink Beauty; eventually earning a position as a master lash stylist in 2016.
As my career focused more and more on the details of the eye area, my attention began to turn to the eyebrows. At this time microblading had just hit American shores and training was becoming available stateside. Immediately, I began saving. Eight months later I was sitting in my first microblading training course with Jody Rivera of Swamp Mermaid Beauty Project. Knowing that this was the tipping point in my career – where all my passions were to meet – I not only completed the certification, but I also completed a 2 month apprenticeship with Jody. Before the end of my apprenticeship had finished I had secured a full-time position with the Swamp Mermaid family and began honing in on my craft, attending advanced partner training with Nouveau Contour in Orlando, Florida and educating on theory with MicroBrows Academy. 9 months later this little mermaid was ready to swim on her own, opening Effortless Beauty Clinic in May 2017.
When I’m not enjoying girl time with my clients I can be found playing fur-mom to my Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Tommy Van Strauss. Tom is a rescue from the Austin Animal Center; he earned all three names by eating Toms, Vans, and Levi’s. He can be found on Instagram as @Tommyvanstrauss. You can also find me twirling about at the Dance With Me studio where I compete Pro-Am in American Smooth and International Latin ballroom dancing.
